Winter sports
It is well-known through Romania that the area Arieseni is a mountain resort with ski slopes, cable cars and a beautiful stop-over.
There is also a very pretty villa, where tourists can stay, coupled with many individual chalets. These combine to make a wonderful setting and most propitious conditions for the descerning skier and associated winter sports, where every enjoyment is catered for. Top
Fishing and hunting
Alba presents many attractions for passionate angless and hunters. The woods, lakes and rivers as well are populated with many species of wild animals and fish.
The area which invariably attracts the tourists' interest is the Sebes Valley. Following the river Sebes to its spring, the traveller will discover a virgin region with a number of dammed 
lakes spread around. From the Oasa Lake begins the Land of Hunting, which is spread about the tributary rivers of Sebes: Prigoana, Salanele and Frumoasa. Here, the tourist can become accustomed to the patience of the angler or experience the thrill of the hunter and then taste speciallity meals in local restaurants or in the people's home. Top
The Land of Wine
The territory of Alba is an area specialized in vineyards. The Jidvei region is reknown worldwide for its quality of wine. This vineyard has been awarded recognition and prizes from around the world.
The Jidvei vineyards, and not only, are waiting therefore their guests to come and savour both the grapes and the Bacchic liqueur. Top
Golf
A new attraction, preferred by numerous tourists, especially the foreigners, is the golf. In addition to other holiday enjoyments, there is in Alba a new golf course in Pianu de Jos, near Alba Iulia. The "Prof. Paul Tomita" Golf Club (my note - Mr Tomita was His Majesty King Mihai I of Romania golf teacher) was inaugurated on the 12th of May 1995 and its purpose was to promote the playing of this game throughout Romania.
Currently this is a nine hole course but it is hope it will be omologated and will equate to the international standard courses.
This golf club arose interest among the golf players, as there is another golf course in Bucuresti-Baneasa but this is under standards being endowed with only six holes. Top
Summer sports
Also within the Alba region there are diverse entertaining and relaxing activities to attain to during the summer season. There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a well stocked body fitness hall within the Olympic Leisure Center (in Alba Iulia), which has a pool of olympic dimensions, and a swimming pool near the forest.
Along the banks of the Sebes River one can have a laze in the sun and relax on the terrace fitted out at tourists disposal nearly the "Intre Salcii" Inn. Top
Nightlife
Whether is required a quiet, romantic evening or, on the contrary, one in the rhythm of music, there are many discos to choose from in Alba, with many sorts of music to cater for all tastes and moods, most of which have excelent restaurants attached. Top
